Career development is only a sub-category of personal development

I work remote AND part-time.

Here's the effect it has on my career:

I still have one!

My career development might be slower and less steep. And probably, I'll never reach the career stage of full-time onsite hustlers.

But:

1. Speed is not everything – I still make progress

2. I have time to follow my daily workout schedule

3. I have time to learn the guitar and learn other languages

4. I have time to travel the world, meet new people, and cultures

5. I have time to sit down after my weekly therapy sessions to write extensively

6. I have time for side projects which contribute to my personal and professional growth

This freedom contributes to my well-being, understanding of the world and myself, and quality as a human being.

Finn found some beautiful words when saying:

"Career development is only a sub-category of personal development. You might spend less time working and "developing" your career, but you get more time to spend with friends and family, read more books, explore hobbies and side-projects.

One might even say that if one ONLY focuses on "career development", you might end up being quite under-developed overall."
