The picture you have about remote work might be wrong!

✖️Remote work is not about:
- vegan chai latte
- daily yoga routines
- MacBooks in fancy coworkings
- collecting stamps in your passport
- coconut water for breakfast and beach
- working from swimming pools or beach bars
- waking up every morning with perfect selfie hair
- Instagram posts with the subtitle: "living my best life!"
Alright, this might be PART of it (just not the hair part, that's fake).
But personally, if it were just for this, damn, I wouldn't do it!
✔️For me, remote work is about:
- getting out of your first-world bubble
- encountering real-life problems outside
- challenging and leaving your own routines
- broadening your view of the world and realities
- deep dives into a new culture by staying over months
- conversation with local people to understand their views on life
And most important: Ruining your back for your 60s by working from kitchen tables. 👨🏼🦳
Like everything in life, remote work is neither black nor white. Everybody who tells you only positive or bad things about remote work is simply lying.
Remote work is one of the best things that has happened so far for me and my personal growth and well-being.
Not because of coconuts and beach days (also), but because of the struggles and uncertainties which I've encountered on my way.
