Love walking, not your goal.

Updated: Sep 12, 2022

The man who loves walking will go further than the man with the biggest goal.

Let me tell you something about this person:

He might walk slower than the goal-driven man.

He will at times hesitate and come to hold, asking himself:

- "Where am I actually going?"

- "I am happy walking, but is this really enough?

- "Shouldn't I have a big goal like all the others?

- "Do I even really like walking that much? Many people tell me differently."

But slowly and steadily, he will keep on going; because he likes it.

He will constantly put one foot in front of the other, step by step, meter by meter…

Eventually, passing the goal-driven man/woman who encountered the first roadblock, doubts, and motivational lows.

Because the man without a goal knows that stumbling rocks are inevitable on whatever path he chooses.

Because the man without a goal doesn't care much if hurdles stop him, he's not rushing for something.

Because the man without a goal does not depend on the realization of his goal to be happy, he's happy just walking.

Because the man without a goal trusts his self-reflection, ability to change directions, and the path he's taking.

Because the man without a goal knows he doesn't need a goal or plan to arrive at a destination.

He's free, and he's adaptable.

Not driven by a fixed destination in the future;

but curiosity about what might lay in front of him in the unknown.

With which man/woman do you identify?

(disclaimer: I stuck to "man" to make the copy more readable. All sexes are meant)
